Hi friends and members of our community,
We hope this message finds you well, and that you, your family and community continue to be safe. We want to explain our plans for camp next summer in regards to COVID-19.
As of January 2021, we do not plan to host our summer camp in person. Instead, we are hosting our summer camp virtually, as we did in the summer of 2020 as well as for our Winter Intensive.
There are several indicators that COVID-19 is continuing to pose a threat to families and communities. For many states, the number of cases is increasing and several schools have transitioned back online or are continuing to be online. As of now, there are no debate tournaments that have been hosted in person, and many national and state tournaments have already indicated plans to host online.
With all of these considerations in mind, Triumph Debate and our staff do not feel comfortable committing to an in-person camp for the summer of 2021. We also feel that given the financial commitment of a camp, parents should not be forced to choose what type of camp to send their students to, given how volatile the state of public health is.
Last year, we were one of the first debate camps to announce their transition to virtual debate. We have continuously said our first priority is the safety of our students and staff. In keeping with that priority, Triumph Debate will be hosted virtually for the summer of 2021.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 234-206-1250. We are looking forward to a wonderful and educational debate camp!
