Vinamra Agrawal (He/Him)

Vinamra previously coached for Revere High School and now coaches for Mason High School where he debated for three years in Lincoln-Douglas debate and qualified to states twice and nationals once. Throughout his career, Vinamra has placed and championed various local tournaments. Several of his students have gone on to champion numerous tournaments, be multiple time state and national qualifiers, rank in the top 14 in Extemp Debate at Nationals, top 8 in Worlds Schools Debate at Nationals, and top 8 at the Ohio State Tournament in LD. Vinamra currently attends Ohio State University where he is majoring in data analytics in business.

Olivia Dal Pra (She/Her)

Olivia Dal Pra competed in Lincoln Douglas debate for four years. She qualified to the OSDA State Tournament two times, her senior year bidding out. Her senior year she made quarters at the NSDA qualifying tournament. Throughout her career she placed at over a dozen local tournaments and advanced to elimination rounds at many larger competitions including GlenOaks, Sylvania and the OSDA State Tournament. Olivia will be attending Kent State University in the fall of 2020, where she will be studying Sociology with a minor in LGBTQ Studies

Katie Humphries (She/Her)

Katie joined Speech and Debate her sophomore year, first competing in PF, and then transitioning into Lincoln Douglas, as the first ever LDer at her school. In her two years in LD, both years she qualified to the OSDA state tournament and the Northern Ohio World Schools team, where her team broke to double octa-finals at NSDA’s. After graduating in 2017, she now attends the University of Akron, where first year, she joined Akron’s Speech and Debate team and won the OFA State Tournament in IPDA. In 2018, she left the team to fully invest in coaching for her alma mater, Liberty High School. Coming from a low-income school and competing on a team with little to no funding, Katie co-founded Triumph Debate with the purpose of making debate more accessible.

Eva Lamberson (She/Her/Hers)

Eva competed in LD for four years at Canfield HS. Through her career she placed at many local tournaments and qualified and advanced to elimination rounds at the OSDA state tournament in 2017 and 2018. She qualified to the NCFL national tournament twice and championed it in 2018. She qualified and advanced to round 12 at NSDA nationals twice, placing 15th in 2017 and 11th in 2018. She has coached both during the season and at camps since graduating high school, and has coached students who have qualified and advanced to outrounds at the NCFL and NSDA national tournaments. She studies philosophy and English at Youngstown State University.

Jason Lan (He/Him)

Jason competed in LD, PF, and extemp for four years at Syosset High School and served as LD captain his senior year, piloting his school’s official progressive debate program. He reached several elimination rounds at multiple national tournaments, reaching the bid round at Columbia, and qualified for NSDA and NCFL his senior year and the NYS Championship all four years. Jason also received invitations to multiple round robins, including the Byram Hills RR and Harrison RR. Jason is incredibly passionate about accessibility in debate, and mentored underprivileged small school students his senior year, helping them reach elimination rounds, earn speaker awards, and grab bids to TFA State and the TOC. During the summer, Jason taught as an instructor as a part of the Online Debate Institute and the NYC Urban Debate League, helping both middle and high school students.

Angela Zhong (She/Her)

Angela debated for Cypress Woods High School for four years and qualified for the Tournament of Champions her senior year. She co-championed and received top speaker of the University of Houston tournament, was in quarterfinals of the Apple Valley “Minneapple” Tournament, and was in finals of the Colleyville Heritage Winter Invitational, along with late elimination rounds at TFA State. Additionally, Angela was the President of her school forensics club and one of twelve World Schools Ambassadors for the USA Debate Development Team, where she championed Blake and placed 5th at Nationals. In her free time, she enjoys figure skating. Angela was a summer instructor for NSD, NSD Texas, TDC, DebateDrills, Strake Jesuit’s No Limits Debate Camp, and cofounded the Houston Summer Debate Camp for middle school students.

Sophia Dal Pra has done Policy Debate for four years, qualifying to the state tournament all four years. Her sophomore year she made octafinals at the state tournament, and was first alternate to NSDA nationals. Her junior year she made finals, and qualified to nationals where her and her partner broke, advancing to elimination rounds. Her senior year she advanced to semi-finals at the state tournament and qualified to NSDA nationals. She is currently debate captain, and has been coaching middle school team members since her freshman year. Sophia plans on continuing her debate career in college at the University of Kentucky, where she will be studying Political Science, Foreign Language & International Economics.
